I learn from the children I teach that freedom to experiment leads to new disoveries. I watch what they do, and I study the differences if one glaze is over or under another.  I often feel I am painting on light. I get the most unusual colors  by exploring  what I don't know, and overlapping colors endlessly.  

As soon as I know what I am doing, I try something new.
